[TECHNICAL INFORMATION]
What can we do with Biblos 2000 Pro?
Cataloging
It allows the unequivocal and unambiguous description of the documents, providing the necessary elements for their identification and adjusting to the regulations that regulate the process (RCAA 2, ISBD).
Classification
To describe the main topic of a document based on the standardized classification language that the documentalist selects, it has the tool by which the main topic is determined and the corresponding index (notation) is assigned for that topic.
In the Configuration module you will find that you can adjust the system for classifying materials using two options:
- CDD (Dewey Decimal Classification, short version)
- CDU (Universal Decimal Classification, abbreviated version 2004)
The second option corresponds to the abbreviated Universal Decimal Classification 2000-2004 edition, the use of which has been authorized by AENOR.
To perform a methodical INDEXING, the program puts at your disposal the alphabetical edition of the UNESCO THESAUR.
Queries (OPAC)
It enables information retrieval through a simple, intuitive and effective search. It can be done locally; or set up a website to check online. (See requirements in the PDF Manual)
Circulation
Register and organize the loans made and the current users of the information unit.
Setting
It offers customization tools for Byblos 2000 Pro and its main functions. Includes backups, selection of the classification system, export of records and maintenance of databases, inventory, statistics, etc.
